Republic Period Blanc de Chine Boy on Water Buffalo
A large republic period or earlier blanc de chine statue of boy holding flute sitting on water buffalo. The statue is very detailed and shows the water buffalo standing in what appears to be a rice field. There is even texture on the water buffalo skin. High quality workmanship. There is a firing separation on buffalo's neck done during production other than that in perfect condition. See picture 4. This is a heavy piece and was hand molded. The statue is 10 inches tall and 11 inches long. This item was purchased in Hongkong in the early 1970s by a military personnel. Please see all pictures. This item is signed.
